Using the Navigation Pagelet    

  1. The navigation pagelet is set up in a navigation hierarchy. When you click a level to expand it, the next level is displayed and highlighted.

    Click the Workforce Administration link. [ go ]
  2. Click the Personal Information link. [ go ]
  3. There are two types of items displayed under this folder. The items with the arrows next to them expand further to show additional folders or links. The items displayed as underlined links are at the lowest level and are called content reference links. When you click a content reference link, a page or search page appears to the right of the navigation pagelet. [ go ]
  4. There are several folders and links listed here. If you want more information about a folder or link, you can roll your mouse over the text to view a callout that describes the purpose of the folder or link.

    Point to the Biographical object. [ go ]
  5. Notice that a callout is displayed. [ go ]
  6. You can continue to navigate to open a page. When opening a page, a search page is generally displayed first.

    Click the Biographical link. [ go ]
  7. Click the Update Personal Information link. [ go ]
  8. Notice that the Update Personal Information search page is displayed to the right of the navigation pagelet. [ go ]
  9. You can collapse the navigation pagelet to display more of the page in the window.

    Click the Collapse button. [ go ]
  10. You can collapse and expand the navigation pagelet at any time.

    Click the Expand button. [ go ]
  11. Click the scroll bar to view the top of the navigation pagelet. [ go ]
  12. You also can search for items in the navigation pagelet if a registry search index has been created. [ go ]

In summary, it is easy to move through the hierarchy in the navigation pagelet by expanding and collapsing the folders to get to the desired pages.
